Jennifer Lopez's Shades Of Blue Gives NBC Its Best Thursday Night Premiere In Nearly A Decade!

Dayum, girl!

Jennifer Lopez made her return to scripted television on Thursday night, and despite being in an age where no one seems to be watching network TV, she managed to pull off some crazy numbers.
Shades of Blue was one of the more anticipated mid-season premieres of 2016, but we doubt even NBC imagined the cop drama's debut would rake in 8.57 million viewers!
While that may not sound the most impressive right off the bat, that's actually the peacock network's best Thursday night series premiere in seven years since Southland got started* way back in April 2009.
Interestingly enough, one of J.Lo's biggest competitors of the night washerself as Part Two of American Idol's final season opener pulled in 9.99 million viewersboth were destroyed by The Big Bang Theory's 15.73 million, though.
Still, this pretty much guarantees Shades of Blue a second season considering she actually built upon The Blacklist's viewership.
Is there anything J.Lo can't do?!
*BTW, it is worth noting that fellow cop drama Southland WAS still cancelled by NBC after that freshman season.
